A great anime. This one’s star is the athlete Akari Kanzaki. Akari's mother was one of the greatest athletes ever, and now Akari is expected to live up to her mother’s reputation. But she's not quite managing it so far. She seems at first to have no real ability at all but when push comes to shove she always wins. With her friends Itchan (who is lost to us during the middle of the series ) Ayla, Tanya, Jessie, and Kris (lesbian in love with Akari; it’s very funny) there’s nothing they can’t handle. Even an invasion of alien athletes. A great anime to watch. Even if you don't like the story that much you can still stare at all the pretty girls running around and doing stuff. Its a very silly one that pokes fun at a lot of stuff. You should take not that most of the characters seem to represent an opinion of the country they hail from (at least it seems to me, at the beginning). Akari from Japan is the hero of the story and although she's a goof off and the comic relief she always wins in the end (this was made in Japan after all). Jessie Gurtland is from the USA is a great athlete (at the beginning the best), she is hard and only cares about being the best. Ayla V. Roznovsky is from Russia. She is also a great athlete and was trained from birth to be an athlete. She is unemotional and works like a machine. Tonya Natdhipytadd is from Africa. She worships a tiki god of running, sleeps out side, acts like a cat (YES!) and runs around a lot with a spear. Hmmm you think they’re trying to make fun of China. Wong ling-phi is from China she's a horrible athlete that cheats all the time and has a serious problem with being self-absorbed. She's the real comic relief while she's there. Then there’s Kris Christopher, she's from the moon and she's a lesbian.......OK never mind.
